Local Student Run Fashion Show Raises Money for JEDS

The event held on the evening of the 21st March 2017, showcased Highlands Students who organised the whole event including; the stage, dancers, lighting, music, models and clothes by Katwalk Hire Jersey.

Parents and supporters paid an entrance fee which included the show and a hot buffet supplied by the Culinary Skills students at Highlands College. A raffle was also held and all proceeds were donated to JEDS Jersey.

JEDS Charity Chairperson Laura Westwater announced “This is a truly remarkable amount of money to have as a donation and the students involved in the Fashion Show must be extremely proud of their efforts. The gift will now allow us to go ahead and publish new pamphlets which we will distribute to schools, youth groups and GP surgeries.”

Nathan Watts, Lecturer Business and Hospitality Highlands College, explained “I am delighted that the money raised by the students will contribute further to raising awareness of eating disorders and will help benefit local people affected. The students were very passionate about supporting the cause and very proud that they managed to raise nearly double their original target”
