About Us
Jersey Eating Disorders Support (JEDS) is a Jersey registered charity which provides support for those affected by eating disorders and their families and friends.
The charity was set up in 1984 by Ruth Nelson MBE and became a member of the Association of Jersey Charities in 1998.

Our Aims
- To hold meetings offering support for those affected by eating disorders and their family and friends.
- To campaign for better treatment and facilities for sufferers of eating disorders in Jersey.
- To raise funds for the purpose of education and early recognition of eating disorders for those affected and their carers. Also for any purpose that the Management Committee considers appropriate.
- To raise public awareness of eating disorders in Jersey.
JEDS is run by people who have lived experience of having an eating disorder or of supporting someone with one.
What We Do
Jersey Eating Disorders Support (JEDS) offers a safe space to express how you are feeling, whether you are living with an eating disorder, or you are a supporter of someone with one. We are currently meeting at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on the first and third Monday of the month in a private room upstairs from 6-7pm.
JEDS offers free one-to-one counselling and peer support for those living with an eating disorder or those supporting someone with one. Please email Karen Dingle on hello@jeds.je if you are interested and she will arrange an assessment.
